• I am getting into the Puppy Culture way of raising puppies. I do as much as I can up to the 8 weeks mark within my time constraints but there is still A LOT of puppy molding shaping to be done between 8 to 16 weeks to make them a better dog for the rest of their life. The online streaming (recommend) or DVDs are $70 which sounds expensive but when you compare it to training cost it is definitely worth it. Here is the youtube clip to check it out. • HOUSETRAINING is always a big topic. Click here to view potty training video. Quick short video that hits the most important steps. Ringing a bell to get outside is a great trick for potty training Video to ring bell to go out. A more detailed video to check out Click here for a detailed potty training video. Also teach them the word "Yes" for when they do things right and "outside" to help with potty training.
• PUPPY OWNERS Click here for info on Puppy Biting and 5 Things not to do. There's some very good heads up and advice near the end about that point when they don't always come. It's a phase and believe me I've had to carry a few half grown puppies back to the house or pen when they go through that phase.
• BITE INHIBITION Another good bite inhibition video.
• DESTRUCTIVE CHEWING: 5 months to a year is usually the worst of it in Aussies. LOVE Bitter Apple Spray for dog cots, etc! I buy the horse one and it saves my dog cots and other things from being chewed up. Click here to learn how to deal with destructive chewing.
• I like the Zak George youtube videos on training. You can start on the series and work with your puppy! Click here to follow a training series of videos!
• Amazon and Chewy.com are good for getting your crates and pens. Amazon or Chewy usually has the best prices on most of that stuff and ships quick (I always check both for the best price). I get a lot of my puppy food and supplies from Chewy or Amazon! Convenient delivery.
